OUR FIRST NAME IS LOVE.

CHANGING THE WORLD FOR JESUS, ONE RELATIONSHIP AT A TIME

OUR MISSION IS TO:

LOVE GOD,
LOVE OTHERS

Love starts with a relationship with the One who became Love. We spread that loving relationship to others.

BUILD PEOPLE
IN CHRIST

Since we love others just as Jesus loved us, we're to build them up in their relationship and life in Jesus Christ.

SEND
OUT

Jesus not only left us with the Great Commandment, to love God and to love each other as ourselves, but He said to Go.

WHAT WE DO

Our Purpose

We build and equip both individuals and houses of worship to make disciples for Jesus. We empower you to train and disciple others to continue to multiply: to be disciples who make disciples in your own backyard, neighborhood, or across the world.

Jesus modeled what it was like to be in community. He had 12 folks in His immediate group that He did life with. But He didn’t stop there. The way He related to people was not only to teach them, but to disciple them. When He preached parables, He gave them a way to discover who He was themselves. Instead of spelling it out, He asked them “Who do YOU say I am?”

This isn’t a teacher-focused Bible Study method; rather, we meet together in what we call “Discovery Groups” to discover who Jesus is ourselves. It’s a safe space where people not only read about Jesus but are asked questions about how to apply this to our lives. Instead of being taught about what the Bible says, we’ve experienced first-hand that people’s walk with Jesus deepens much more greatly when they discover for themselves the answers to life’s tough questions.

God Himself, through His Word, becomes our teacher. The Bible comes alive, as it speaks for itself. Information plus application and inspiration leads to
lasting transformation.

HOW WE DO IT

Our Approach

Technically, it's not really "our approach;" actually, it's been around for thousands of years, and it's completely biblical. The early church spread like wildfire, in the midst of uncertainty and danger. Instead of coming up with a new way of "doing Christianity," we're going back to the basics.

While learning about Jesus is great for personal study, we’ve found that discovering Jesus for ourselves creates a much more personal, deep and lasting relationship with Him than learning about Him ever can. This is because it increases relational depth and missional intent and focuses on the application of the Scripture we’re using. Discovery opens up our eyes from within our hearts, and not just learning from inside our minds.

Using the Discovery Bible Study (DBS) model, we provide an environment where folks ask questions of themselves for themselves. We don’t teach. Real, lasting community forms when people discover for themselves from each other and with each other, who Jesus is – just as the original disciples did.

Connecting with others during the week is crucial. Even Jesus walked with His closest friends on a daily basis. We’re social creatures, and we’re meant to be in community. We also reach out to others that don’t already have a group environment to discover Jesus with, and we invite them in.

WHY WE DO IT

Our Reason

Jesus said so! At the risk of sounding cliche', this actually drives why we do what we do.

Matthew 28:19 is part of what is referred to as “The Great Commission.” A commission is defined as a directive, or command (and isn’t just a “suggestion.”) He specifically tells us to “go and make disciples.” The suffix “-ship” means “the shape, state, or condition of being.”

The word disciple comes from the Latin word disciplus, which means to be a student, or learner of. If we’re students, who’s our teacher? In Matthew 23:10, Jesus says we’re to have one Instructor – the Messiah. Therefore, the word “discipleship” literally means to be life-long students of Jesus.
